Kimberly Barnes has been a Board-Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner since 2008 and is passionate about providing compassionate, personalized care to women through every stage of life. Her clinical interests include gynecology, women’s wellness, and helping women navigate perimenopause and menopause.

Kimberly earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan in 2006 and began her nursing career in pediatric hematology/oncology. After completing her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania in 2008, she went on to care for women in an OB-GYN practice, public health clinics, and rural communities, with experience that includes low-risk obstetrics. She has also served as a clinical preceptor for graduate nursing students.

She believes excellent healthcare begins with listening. As a working mother and former military spouse, Kimberly understands the unique demands that family, career, frequent transitions, and military life can place on women. She strives to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where patients feel heard, respected, and supported, and she views herself as a partner in her patients’ care – working together to develop individualized plans that meet their needs and goals.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their four children, and their beloved Newfoundland. Much of her free time is spent cheering from the sidelines at her kids’ practices and games, and she’s a music lover and loyal Crime Junkie podcast listener.
