Heather Pickett is a highly experienced and Board-Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) with a career spanning over 20 years. Since obtaining her board certification in 2005, Heather has dedicated herself to providing exceptional care to women across their lifespan.

Heather’s journey began in Bellevue, Nebraska, where she grew up. In 1995, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her dedication to serving her country led her to commission as a Navy Nurse Corps officer shortly after graduation. Heather’s diverse military experience allowed her to serve in various specialties, but it was during her time as a labor and delivery nurse that her passion for women’s health truly blossomed.

Throughout her distinguished military career, Heather completed two tours—one in Great Lakes, Illinois, and another in Okinawa, Japan. After completing her tours, she returned to Nebraska to pursue her Master’s degree in Nursing. Following her graduation, she was assigned to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, and later served at the Cherry Point Naval Health Clinic in North Carolina as her final duty station. Heather’s exceptional skills in maternal-child nursing, as well as her proficiency in mental health, medical-surgical nursing, and emergency medicine, were further honed during her service. She even deployed to the NATO Role 3 hospital in Afghanistan, further solidifying her commitment to patient care.

As a working mother and nurse practitioner, Heather understands the significance of comprehensive and holistic women’s healthcare. Her dedication to providing high-quality care is unwavering, as she recognizes the importance of addressing women’s health needs across all stages of life.

Outside of her professional life, she shares her life with her husband Mark, a retired Marine Corps Pilot who now serves as an EMS pilot in Culpeper. Heather cherishes spending time with her husband, adult children, and their animals. She also enjoys traveling, engaging in outdoor activities, and finds relaxation by the pool.
